AMF Bakery Systems approached Cornerstone for a new design plan for their Corporate Headquarters C-Suite offices. The 2nd-floor space had undergone only minor renovations since its original construction, providing us with a great opportunity for an impactful redesign.
Their vision was big and bold. Working closely with our client, we were able to channel their visualization, staying true to their logo and corporate colors. We placed “wow” elements in the most visible areas throughout the plan, and integrated the new design with the existing space, thereby creating a seamless flow from one area to the next.
As with most projects, keeping an eye on the budget was very important to our client. Because we were able to guide them through the design process, the cost of each decision made was understood, thus facilitating the management of funds.
The building’s long, narrow layout presented our biggest design challenge. The 2nd-floor’s main corridor ran the entire length of the building and was poorly lit. Determined to bring in more light, and to incorporate better flow from end to end, we designed a combination of private, glass-front offices along the corridor, and low-paneled workstations in the open office area. To prevent blocking of natural light, as well as to help mitigate costs, the restrooms along the curved hallway were relocated slightly from their original location.
