This renovation of the existing ground floor space of the CMG Stroobants Cardiovascular Center (building originally designed by Cornerstone in 2002) enabled the hospital to add a Wound Care Unit, a Rhythm Clinic, and Vascular Imaging, to its Cardiovascular Rehabilitation services. The renovation also added to its support areas with a main business office, a scheduling and call center, and an expanded café.
Weekly meetings were conducted with the end users to understand the function and flow of their individual departments in order to design a floor plan that would allow them to work together cohesively as a single unit on one floor. A new rear entrance was designed to mesh with the existing building aesthetics while strengthening the Centra Medical Group brand. This entrance offers a separate waiting area for patients of the newly added departments. For the interior build-out, we were tasked with marrying the building’s existing feel to the CMG finish standards created by the Centra Board Members.
