About This Project

Challenge: The fifteen years old building had been designed for a future expansion that never materialized. We were challenged to rethink the expansion space and utilize it in a way that was most fitting to the needs of our client’s practice.

Client Ask: The clients wanted the space to be used to expand the existing office suite, and to include a new centralized registration and areas for wound care and cardiovascular procedures.

Solution: The resulting design creates a fusion between the clean Scandinavian aesthetic of the original building and the friendly and nurturing feel of the Centra Health brand. The renovation also added to the practice support areas with a main business office, a scheduling and call center, and an expanded café.

Weekly meetings were conducted with the end users to understand the function and flow of their individual departments in order to design a floor plan that would allow them to work together cohesively as a single unit on one floor. A new rear entrance was designed to mesh with the existing building aesthetics while strengthening the Centra Medical Group brand. This entrance offers a separate waiting area for patients of the newly added departments. For the interior build-out, we were tasked with marrying the building’s existing feel to the CMG finish standards created by the Centra Board Members.
