Congratulations to Royce Construction Services and to one of our very talented certified interior designers, Audra Powell! Cornerstone Architects received a Design-Build Merit Award from the Design-Build Institute of America (Mid-Atlantic Region) for our work on the Kenner Army Health Clinic, project titled “Building 8200 Renovation.”

The Administrative Building #8200 is located on the Fort Lee Military Base. This single story building consists of 3,000 square feet and was to be reconfigured and renovated for compliance with Federal, State, and Installation codes and laws.

Royce Construction Services (RCS) was awarded the contract to renovate the building’s interior and sub-contracted the design work to Cornerstone. Audra, as Project Manager, completed the work plan, design development, construction documents, construction administration, and wrote the specifications.

The interior of the Administrative Building #8200 was completely renewed, to include the reconfiguration of the hard walls to meet the current and projected needs of the facility as instructed by the Department of Defense. The design and construction addressed improvement of the building envelope, functionality, and appearance. New mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and special systems were provided. The new layout of the space incorporated the reception and waiting areas, private and shared offices, a break room, restrooms, a janitor’s closet, communication, storage, and a mechanical and electrical room.

Job well done, Audra!
