Cornerstone worked with Ethos Veterinary Health to renovate an existing office building and convert it into a suite for The Oncology Service – Richmond. This 3,500 square-foot space provides cancer treatment for dogs and cats. Coordinating the existing structure & numerous existing windows, Cornerstone reworked the client’s schematic design sketch to fit into the space and accommodate their needs, while meeting code requirements. As this building had unique existing egressing features, we had to carefully design the space to allow for safe exiting from the building in case of a fire. Coordination of the vet equipment including providing sufficient exhaust for the biosafety compound cabinet was carefully considered to allow for proper venting with minimal runs to the exterior. Spaces included five exam rooms, an open treatment area, lab space, recovery spaces, chemotherapy administration space, and enough offices for the staff.
