The existing CCR building on the Chesterfield Power Plant Campus provided meeting and office space for the employees working at the facility. Dominion Energy wanted to use this location as a traning facility with multiple and various sized rooms. Cornerstone sandwiched the existing building by designing two new additions to the front and back of the existing building. The new front entrance provided a more private check-in and more office space, while the new traning room addition allowed for large groups to enter the space directly without disruptions to the offices. The existing facade brick pattern was carfully marriesd to the new by pulling simple horizontal lines, and mimicking the existing window spaceing and opening sizes.
