Project Title

Client Ask: Dr. Laird Williams asked Cornerstone to plan and design a 3,500 SF upscale animal hospital in an existing retail storefront space located at the intersection of Huguenot and Robious Road. Dr. Williams wanted a special space for his clients and their four-legged patients all in a very tight budget.

Challenge: The biggest challenge was determining how to transform a plain “vanilla” storefront into an unique space that accommodates his veterinary hospital equipment and stays within the budget.

Our Solution: Cornerstone used a number of design features to enlarge, soften and add interest in selected spaces, especially the entry, waiting and retail spaces. By using the existing high space of the “shell” building in the waiting room we were able to add height and drama to the waiting and retails space. Using warm earth tone colors and polished concrete floors we softened and made the space more inviting. By keeping the back of the house spaces coordinated in color but down played in features, we were able to bring the total costs in line with the budget.
