About This Project

RACSB asked Cornerstone, under a Two Year Term Contract, to renovate the Kenmore Club, a day facility, in Fredericksburg. The clubhouse provides individuals who have severe and persistent mental illness with a place to meet friends, learn skills, and receive rehabilitation.

This location is very busy during the day, so the phasing if this project was an important piece to the construction puzzle. We were able to divide the club in half and renovate each side separately, so that activities could still commence during construction. When the temporary dividing wall finally came down to bring the two spaces back to one whole usable space, the club members were in awe. They couldn’t believe that so much care went into a place that they called their own. They now had a new cafe with lounge seating, quiet room, and new furniture throughout to achieve a cohesive look throughout the space from finishes to furniture and artwork.
