The Challenge: In addition to the steep slopes at the rear of the site we worked with a large physician group and the hospital joint venture partner to resolve Zoning and Code Review of the VCC, a review of the 2014 FGI Guidelines and the AAAHC physical requirements in order to determine the maximum size of future additions as limited by the physical characteristics of the site and the existing zoning requirements.
Client Ask: The Surgery Center of Lynchburg was at it’s maximum patient capacity and was anticipating an additional increase in their case load in the near future. They wanted to understand the maximum build out potential of their existing site and how best to expand the number of operating rooms, central sterile facilities, patients care areas and support spaces.
Our Solution: The entire team of designers, client group, city planners, and contractor to design the addition to meet the client ask all while blending seamlessly with the existing surgery center. We helped the client to continue their mission to provide a convenient, safe, and cost-effective alternative to inpatient surgery and hospital outpatient surgery.
